Seeking counsel outside your circle of family and friends can be a difficult process. My goal is to offer a safe, empathic and compassionate environment within which to address the issues you face. Guiding conversations toward hope and healing, collaborating on possible solutions to help you remember your most authentic and joyous self.
I am a Marriage & Family Therapist, MA, LMFT, and am certified in EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. EMDR Therapy is an empirically researched method of psychotherapy that helps clients process past and present disturbing life events and memories, helping to overcome defeating patterns of thought and behavior. EMDR can also be used for performance enhancement for future life endeavors.
A.R.T therapy is a protocol which utilizes creative imagery and active imagination in achieving similar results as EMDR. It relies upon a client’s ability to visualize imagistic details of their trauma and the use of language to creatively alter those images.
I am also a believer in the power of contemplative listening and prayerful experiences of music and sound. My research dissertation focuses on the power of music to alter our internal working models (IWM), which you can read here. Recently, I have been developing a new sound-based protocol to use in addition to EMDR and ART Therapies, which entails a separate 45min “listening session” focusing on bilateral stimulation, featuring subtle musical sounds and guided meditation inspired by the positive images and messaging discovered in conversation. I have collaborated with a professional sound designer to develop my own unique form of bilateral stimulation, which I tailor to client needs.
When taken together, EMDR and ART therapies in combination with my contemplative listening protocol forms a truly unique, science-backed wholistic therapy you won’t find anywhere else.
